Skåde Skole
2023
Commissioned permanent installation of work for Skåde School, purchased by Aarhus Arts Council, to hang in the building used for teaching the 13-17 year olds. The spaces are mainly trancient, but offer niches and corners for taking breaks from others or to hang out togehter between classes.
The installation consists of a series of drawings and prints that expand upon the series 'Soft Interiors' portraying diferent forms of intimacy between friends, lovers and oneself, mostly coming from a queer pov.
In the case of the school there was a focus on bringing in emotive imagery that shows friendship and life outside of the gaze of adult authority. The drawings feature messy rooms, sensuos and focused attentions, physical nearness and online behaviors.
Most are new works and with the exeption of a few older works that specifically depict sexuality and intimacy.
The sculpture ‘Body Poem, no.1’ is from a series of sculpture and drawings that by contrast, deal with the abject nature of the body, its akawardness. Throughout the series are scewed representations of common bodily imagery and dynamic compositions.
